HandPunch - Hand Geometry Biometric Time Clock

Hand geometry HandPunch biometric time clock

Hand geometry time clocks have been used successfully for over 25 years in many different applications. It is a very accurate technology and suitable for almost any environment including factories, warehouses, hospitals, restaurants, and even construction sites. Nearly one million of these devices have been deployed in the field resulting in tens of millions of workers being paid accurately.

Employees punch by placing their hand on the platen and pinning their hand between 5 pegs. This allows the clock to take a three-dimensional reading of the size and shape of their hand. It also measures finger thickness and length and then compares it to a template that is stored in memory.

Hand geometry clocks are also ideal for environments where employees' hands may be dirty. For example, a mechanic working in a shop may have greasy hands which is very hard for fingerprint readers to identify. The HandPunch does not read fingerprints or palm prints, simply the size and shape of the hand, therefore dirty or scratched hands are not a problem.

Below are the 5 different models of handpunch units that are offered by Schlage.
